Staying on top of regular maintenance will keep the high gloss & easy-to-wash factors active.
· Avoid touching any polished surfaces; paint, gloss pillars, wheels, etc. Touching these surfaces, especially with dust or dirt on them, will easily scratch the finish and cause swirl marks.
· Proper weekly washes will make the coating applied to your ride last longer!
· Hand washing is best, for drive-through car washes always choose the basic wash at touchless locations.
· Removing bird droppings, bugs, tree sap, tar, etc. as quickly as possible will reduce the chance of etching the clear coat.
· Schedule reoccurring appointments with Motorhead or, do it yourself.
Two 5gal buckets with grit guards, pH-neutral auto wash soap, soft wash mitt, large microfiber drying towels, tire shine & applicator AND most importantly *attention to detail!
· Most car wash soaps are ‘aggressive’ and will strip wax/sealants on your paint which will remove protection and hydrophobic factors. Using a simple soap that will just clean is crucial.
· A very soft wash mitt that is cleaned after each use, will reduce the chance of introducing scratches and swirls in your paint during washing.
· Washing in the shade is preferred. When washing you want to make sure that water or soap is not drying on the surface because it will damage or even mar the finish.
· Rinse your wash mitt after wiping a small section (door size) from top to bottom on.
· When drying, fold the large microfiber towel in half, wipe with long and gentle strokes.
· Washing your microfiber drying and application towels after each use is necessary.
· Film edges will need an inspection after a week as some may peel back. This is because our goal is to get the maximum amount of coverage possible.
· Avoid drive-through car washes for the first week until the edges are trimmed and final secured.
· The self healing factors are phenomenal when it comes to looking good for the long run, this does not mean you should intentionally cause damage to the film.
· Etchings can still happen on the film so make sure to remove bugs, bird droppings, tree sap as soon as possible.
